Independent software and game development company

Viken Data

We build independent software and games where engineering discipline meets visual craft. Through Viken Data Studio we turn complex operations into focused tools; through Mad Camel Studio we build games, visual systems, and interactive worlds with a distinct identity.

Choose the branch behind the work.

Each product belongs to the studio that owns its work. Software, downloads, game pages, previews, and future releases keep their own context, so visitors can move from company to studio to product without guessing what belongs where.

Mad Camel Studio

Game development

Game development and visual direction for creative products with a distinct identity: interaction design, art direction, Steam presentation, and experiences built around a clear mood.

Products with their own front doors.

The homepage gives the route. Product pages carry the detail. Download and wishlist links remain actions, not shortcuts around a real product story.

Databases Searching Tool

D.S.T. is the Viken Data Studio answer to one of the least glamorous data problems: the value is known, the table is not. It runs locally, searches approved SQL Server scopes, keeps browser memory under control, and turns database lookup work into a repeatable, auditable flow.

Web StaticOps

A flagship tool for building static websites with operational discipline: project files, content, media, audits, backups, exports, and agent handoff in one local-first workflow.

Independent company, visible ownership.

Viken Data is built around direct product ownership: one practical branch, one creative branch, and a public site that explains the structure without burying it under generic corporate language.

ClaritySoftware should reduce the distance between a question and a useful answer.
CraftGames need rhythm, atmosphere, interface care, and a reason to keep playing.
OwnershipDirect product pages, direct downloads, static exports, and clear studio structure keep the public story in company hands.

Classic art becomes a playable collection.

Retro Puzzles - Eviva L'arte turns classic paintings into a structured journey: collect, unlock, solve, return, and keep moving through artists and regions at your own pace.

Planned Steam release: 31 July 2026

Classic art with a playable structure.

The game is built for solo sessions: relaxed boards, demanding piece counts, progression unlocks, achievements, and helpers that make large artwork challenges approachable without removing the satisfaction of solving them.

  • 225 painting-based puzzles across 45 artists and 9 world regions.
  • Easy, Normal, and Hard tiers range from short sessions to large 4160-piece boards.
  • Hints, background reveal, slow motion, and assisted placement support different play styles.
  • Steam wishlist and discovery stay on Steam; the company site keeps the studio story intact.

Databases Searching Tool

D.S.T. exists for the practical moment when you know what you are looking for, but not where the system has hidden it. The current build adds Search Profiles, server-side pagination, CSV/JSONL export, schema browsing, search memory, credential vault support, audit logs, and an agent-safe search gateway. Viken Data Studio can also help companies with training, configuration, and implementation into internal workflows.

Web StaticOps makes static publishing operational.

A static site should not be a throwaway export. Web StaticOps treats it as a workspace with content, navigation, media, legal pages, checks, backups, search, export packages, and agent-ready handoff.

Local workspace

Project files stay visible: content, media, navigation, configuration, generated prompts, screenshots, backups, and exported builds.

Static output with proof

Generated pages include sitemap, robots, search index, and a build manifest with routes, copied files, and hashes for review.

Agent-ready maintenance

Rules, prompts, audits, acceptance reports, and backups give future work a clear operating path instead of tribal memory.

Ship pages like product releases.

The same standard applies to the public website and the tools behind it: write clearly, keep ownership visible, use real product facts, validate changes, and package work so it can be restored.

Give every product a home

D.S.T. belongs to Viken Data Studio. Retro Puzzles belongs to Mad Camel Studio. Web StaticOps is a Viken Data Studio product preview.

Use facts visitors can act on

Downloads, product pages, Steam wishlist links, screenshots, setup notes, and clear availability signals matter more than inflated statistics.

Keep the public layer simple

Static pages can carry the company story, product information, legal pages, SEO, search, and downloads without a public CMS runtime.

Leave a clean handoff

Every meaningful change should be buildable, auditable, exportable, and backed up so the next person or agent can continue safely.

D.S.T. is packaged, documented, and ready to try.

The current D.S.T. package has been refreshed as a proper standalone Windows download with the required local server dependency included. No separate Waitress install is needed for the packaged build.

Read the documentation

The D.S.T. docs cover startup, profiles, credential vault behavior, server-side pagination, exports, Schema Explorer, Agent API, and verification notes.

Follow the game project

Mad Camel Studio now has two public product routes: Retro Puzzles on the Steam track and .panic as a mobile timing-game teaser built around short, sharp pressure.

D.S.T. standalone package refreshed. The public ZIP now includes the packaged local server dependency, so the EXE starts without the Flask fallback warning.
D.S.T. documentation expanded. The public docs now cover Search Profiles, Credential Vault, Agent API, Search Memory, workspaces, exports, diagnostics, and safe local startup.
Retro Puzzles planned Steam release. Retro Puzzles - Eviva L'arte is listed on Steam with a planned release date of 31 July 2026.
